A tour in the fascinating Matera, also known as “The stones of Matera”. Arrival in Matera, meeting with the guide at 9.30 am and start of the visit of the town.

The guide will illustrate the main architectural features and will tell how life was in the old districts until the 50s.

The first historical information about the city we will have with the visit of Piazza Vittorio Veneto making an overview of the Sasso Barisano. We will then move on to visit the Cathedral in Apulian Romanesque style. We will then continue in the Sasso Caveoso among stairs, passages, alleys and cisterns.

We will visit the famous Grotte, typical dwellings dug into the rock and reused as wine cellars and we will stop at the Antiche Cibarie to taste Lucanian products.
